Zone, Sesh and Clew Nicotine Pouches: Three Fast-Growing Brands Explained
Beyond ZYN, VELO and on!, three nicotine pouch brands are drawing a lot of searches in the US: Zone, Sesh and Clew. Here’s who’s behind each one, and what’s in the can.
Zone
- Who makes it: Zone is marketed in the US by ITG Brands, part of Imperial Brands, and manufactured by TJP Labs in Canada.
- US launch: February 2024
- Nicotine: synthetic nicotine, tobacco-free
- Strengths: 6mg and 9mg
- Flavors: Wintergreen, Spearmint, Peppermint, Mint, Citrus, Dragonfruit and Tobacco
- Can size and price: 20 pouches per can, MSRP $4.99
- FDA status: According to Tobacco Insider, the FDA issued a “refuse-to-file” decision on Zone’s applications in March 2026, and ITG challenged it in court. The FDA told the court it didn’t intend to take enforcement action while the case proceeds. Zone was not on the FDA’s authorized list as of August 2026.
Note that Zone starts at 6mg, so it isn’t a beginner brand.
Sesh (Sesh+)
- Who makes it: Sesh+ Products, based in Austin, Texas, founded by CEO Max Cunningham with co-founder Michael Scarffe. The company says it was started by former smokers and vapers.
- Funding: Sesh has raised $40 million, according to CSP Daily News.
- Nicotine: 100% tobacco-free
- Strengths: 4mg, 6mg and 8mg
- Flavors: Mint, Wintergreen, Mango, Raspberry Lemon, Cappuccino and Clear (unflavored)
- Age: sold to adults 21+ only
- FDA status: not on the FDA’s authorized list as of August 2026
Sesh also sells energy pouches, so check whether you’re buying a nicotine or a caffeine product.
Clew
- Who makes it: CLEW is sold in the US, UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, South Africa, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, according to its official site. Its US company details and manufacturing location aren’t clearly stated on the official site.
- Strengths and flavors: vary by market. Check the can and the local product listing.
- FDA status: not on the FDA’s authorized list as of August 2026
Because Clew’s details are less transparent than some brands’, check the ingredient list and nicotine strength carefully before buying (see why labels matter).

About FDA status
Only 43 nicotine pouches were on the FDA’s authorized list as of August 21, 2026, all from ZYN and on!. The FDA’s page states that these are the only nicotine pouches that may be lawfully sold in the US. Many other brands, including these three, are nonetheless widely sold. See how FDA review works.
Choosing between them
- New to pouches? Sesh 4mg is the gentlest starting point of the three. Zone starts at 6mg.
- Want synthetic nicotine? Zone uses it (see synthetic nicotine explained).
- Want an unflavored option? Sesh Clear.
For other brands, see our best pouch brands guide and brand directory.
Bottom line
Zone (ITG/Imperial, synthetic nicotine, 6–9mg), Sesh (an Austin startup, 4–8mg, with an unflavored option) and Clew (an international brand with less transparent US details) are all widely sold, but none was on the FDA’s authorized list as of August 2026. If you’re new to pouches, start with the lowest strength available, and check the can carefully.
