on! vs on! PLUS: What's the Difference?

By PouchGuide Editorial Team · Published September 28, 2026

on! and on! PLUS are both made by Helix Innovations, part of Altria, but they’re very different pouches. Here’s how they compare.

The short version

Side-by-side

on!on! PLUS
PouchMini, dryLarger, soft, moister
StrengthsLow (from 1.5–2mg up to 8mg)6mg and 9mg (FDA-authorized)
FlavorsWider range, including coffee, berry and spiceMint, Wintergreen, Tobacco
FDA-authorized productsAutumn Spice, Cappuccino, Rich Berry (2mg and 4mg)Mint, Tobacco, Wintergreen (6mg and 9mg)

FDA authorization

on! PLUS was the first product authorized under the FDA’s faster nicotine pouch pilot program. In December 2025, the FDA authorized six on! PLUS products: Mint, Tobacco and Wintergreen, each in 6mg and 9mg.

In August 2026, the FDA authorized four more on! products in the classic line: Rich Berry 2mg, Cappuccino 2mg and 4mg, and Autumn Spice 2mg. The FDA’s list shows on! Autumn Spice, Cappuccino and Rich Berry at 2mg and 4mg.

As of August 2026, ZYN and on! are the only brands with FDA-authorized nicotine pouches. Note that only specific flavors and strengths are authorized, not every on! product on the shelf. See how FDA review works.

Which should you choose?

Switching from on! to on! PLUS? Start at 6mg. The bigger, moister pouch can feel noticeably stronger (see dry vs moist pouches).

How they compare with rivals

on! PLUS competes with other higher-strength, moister pouches like ZYN Ultra and VELO Plus (see ZYN Ultra and VELO vs VELO Plus). Classic on! competes with low-strength dry pouches like classic ZYN. For a head-to-head, see VELO vs on!, and for the brand overview, see what is on!.

Bottom line

on! is Altria’s mini, dry, low-strength pouch with a wider flavor range. on! PLUS is its bigger, softer, moister pouch in 6mg and 9mg, in Mint, Wintergreen and Tobacco. Six on! PLUS products were FDA-authorized in December 2025, and four classic on! products in August 2026. Choose on! for discretion and low strength, or on! PLUS if you want a stronger, moister pouch, and step up carefully.
